Suzy’s Law is now on Twitter, and other such newfangled things

It’s been about eighteen hours now since we launched, and the response has been overwhelming. We’ve received a bunch of e-mails of support and encouragement, and more than a few people have volunteered to help out. Of course, we’ve also received a fair number of critical e-mails, e-mails that asked important questions. If anything, these sorts of e-mails are even better than the supportive kind. They raise the level of public debate, and that can only be a good thing.
We’ve got some neat things coming in the next few days to help folks get involved and stay involved with the effort to get H.R. 940 out of committee. Most of them aren’t ready to talk about yet — you know how new features are; if you talk about them too soon, they have a way of malfunctioning on you and refusing to work at all — but a couple are starting to peek out from behind the curtain.
First, we now have a Twitter feed. Do you Twitter? If you do, great! Follow our progress here. If not, check it out. It’s kind of like a blog, and kind of like an instant message, and not really anything like either. But it’s a great way to stay up to date with the people and groups you’re involved with. And by that, of course I mean us.
Thanks to the hard work of a good friend of our campaign, we’ll also soon have a group on Facebook. That one’s not quite ready to go live yet, but it will be soon, and the moment it is, we’ll let you know on this blog. And of course on our Twitter feed as well, since we have one now.
Those are just two of the ways we’re making it easier to get involved and stay involved. There will be more soon. Until then, don’t forget to call your Congressman!
